Aged care facilities power bill takes a dive…..

A multi-site aged care facility wanted to reduce their power consumption without large or permanent expenditure due to future re-development of buildings. With pools at each site, one being a hydrotherapy pool with 24hr a day pump operation, the logical solution was to add Variable Frequency Drives ( VFD ) onto each pool pump. The return on investment was only 18 months so it was an easy decision for management to make. The units are plug in so installation took 10 mins per site and they can be easily removed should renovation or relocation be required.

Retirement Community’s gas heater was leaking dollars…

The complex’s pool is heated to 31 degs all year round and the LP gas heater was using $14000.00 worth of gas each year. Premier Energy installed an efficient electric heat pump and a liquid blanket system on the pool to retain heat. Annual operating costs were reduced to $3500.00 per year. The client is over the moon with the new system paying for itself in only 15 months and saving $120k over the next 10 years. 

Premier Energy was asked to audit 6 aquatic facilities for South Burnett Council to find where costs could be reduced. After visiting all locations, recording high useage devices and talking to pool operators we produced a report detailing planned expenditure and possible savings. The report covered motor drives for pumps, pool heating systems, heat retention and changes to ventilation systems for indoor facilities. All recommended solutions have returns under 3 years and the ability to save thousands of dollars every year. 

Premier have recently installed a 30KW Sanyo solar power system along with 44 Solar Hot Water units to a development in Nambour for an Aged Care Organisation. This will help create a very sustainable development and bench mark a number of future developments. The solar hot water service will supply all individual units.
